Dee was able to identify and make educated guesses on over a dozen of the photos that were posted 10/28/09. The following link contains revised TXT files of scan020.jpg, scan043.jpg, scan050.jpg thru scan053.jpg, and scan060.jpg thru scan068.jpg:

I will also revise the 10/28/09 ZIP file so it contains these updated TXT files.

Scans of Werner Photographs
I have completed scanning the photos I borrowed from Phyllis Cook-Martinez and Gary Cook - all of which I believe once belonged to Velma Werner-Cook. All photos were scanned at 400dpi and saved in JPG format. I also created TXT files with known descriptions and dates. There are 68 in total and the last 8 are unknowns (likely not on the Werner side of the family). Total file size is about 28Mb so it'll take some time to download the following ZIP file:

Most descriptions were identified from my Aunt and Dad - so there may be errors! If you find any, please let me know so I can correct them.
Let me know if you have any problems downloading. I can always burn a CD and snail mail it off.

Gary Cook's pumpkin
Gary's pumpkin weighed in at 530 #s - he sold it ($.50 per #) but retained the right to the seeds - ha, now he is all "gun-ho" for next year, even talking about planting a cover crop for the garden this winter.

Enter new blogs
Our blog is set up so that anyone in the world can view and also make comments to our blog. An email was sent to each of you Werner Clan members extending an invitation to become an "author" on this blog. Being an author allows you to create a new blog subject. That is what makes this blog work for us as each of you can keep us informed about yourself and then that allows each of us to respond to the new subject line.
Werner Clan Blog
Hi everyone. Ray and I have created a "blog" for us to follow and make comments. The address is http://wernerclans.blogspot.com/. We have also obtained the domain name "wernerclan.com". Ray intend to link the blog to the "wernerclan.com" domain. It will be easier to remember and be more personalized.
This certainly should help all of us stayed better in touch with each other. You can list information for everyone to see and still can email each other if you want something to stay personal.
If you don't already have a "Google" account you should sign up for one. It is very simple and takes very little time. blogspot.com is a Google product.
In the right column there is a place to become a "follower" of this blog. Be sure to do that as well.
It's not snowing here in Clay Center but did in western Kansas. The temperature has been under 32 degrees the last two nights. We watched grandsons play football yesterday morning. It was 34 degrees and a strong north wind. Winter is approaching soon and the "KC Chiefs" still haven't won a game. Imagine that!!
